The children's book Carl Enters a Contest promotes positive perspectives on perseverance and shows how Carl can work hard during a baking competition. The 24-page fiction book also includes a "words to know" vocabulary list and comprehension questions to keep the learning going. Carl was first introduced in our Katie Can series, based on our best-selling book of the same title. In the story, Katie becomes friends with her early-elementary classmate Carl through her familiarity with basic ASL. We are continuing with Carl's story in the new and inclusive Carl Can series.
